Whitney Reynolds

Board of Director

Whitney Reynolds was born in Loudon, TN and raised nearby in Sweetwater, TN.  After graduating from Sweetwater High School, she attended Cleveland State Community College where she received her A.A.S. in Office Systems Administration.  She has lived and worked in McMinn County, TN since 1994.  Whitney has been employed with McMinn County Government for more than 31 years, 13 years at the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department, 15 years at the McMinn County Finance Office, and the last 3 years at the McMinn County Highway Department.  Whitney attends Clearwater Baptist Church in Athens, TN.

Whitney became aware of the plight of orphans on an international level in 2010 during her first mission trip to Ghana, Africa.  That trip ignited a spark in Whitney which resulted in the creation of an adoption ministry called Hearts4Ghana which walked hand in hand with adoptive families through the international adoption process of orphans from Ghana at no expense to the families.  The ministry ended after only 4 years due to changes in the U.S. laws requiring families to utilize only certified adoption agencies.

Whitney previously served as church treasurer for more than four years.  The combination of her financial experience as well as her history of compassion regarding the plight of children who need a stable home life made her an excellent candidate for Treasurer of Foster Village East Tennessee.  After serving as Treasurer for 4 years, she has now moved into the position of President of the Board of Directors.  She looks forward to continuing to serve children and families involved in the foster care system in the four-county region that she has always called home.
